STUMBLING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. As I grew up, I found that moving forward without learning from my past always lead me to committing the same mistakes over and over again. Soul searching, I found out about the FIVE LANGAUGES OF LOVE and found that I could apply this to my daily life. Looking deep within, I understood why I felt certain things from other people’s actions towards me and vice versa. Now as a mother and wife, I realized that I often apply this to my children and husband. Keeping a sound and loving relationship takes a lot of work and basing my actions and words according to my family’s LOVE LANGUAGE keeps the hurt and resentments to a minimum.
USING THE RIGHT LANGUAGE. In my life right now, I choose to love my children through homeschooling and my husband by being a housewife. In loving myself, I have embraced entrepreneurship where I want to earn enough to spend for the things I want and need. Sounds cool?? Kinda crazy actually! And I started it without any hint of how to time manage my different tasks and responsibilities. I kept on focusing on my kids and husband that I was forgetting to give time for myself and my business. My projects were not pushing through and my business grew very slowly. Until I realized that I needed other people’s help as well and this led me to extending the use of these FIVE LANGUAGES OF LOVE to colleagues, bosses, clients and employees. I found out how I could successfully teach my children by giving them the love language that they prefer. Homeschooling started to become enjoyable. I realized that pushing the wrong love language to my husband leads to miscommunication and using the correct love language helps him understand my moods better. This made him appreciate my efforts at home too! Lastly, I saw how the wrong love language affected some of my business partners’ work set-up, and I also found how exercising the correct love language amongst friends blossomed into a lasting business venture that helped us gain a lot of trusted and loyal clients.
PASSING IT FORWARD. Finally, I have learned that the effects of love are limitless. I realized that this was one of the reasons why past relationships probably did not work and how I can make my current relationship (coupled with lots of prayer) can last. It is true that a simple gesture of thoughtfulness and in a sense, a small measure of love really goes a long, long way! I hope that with every trial and error I take testing each person I encounter’s LOVE LANGUAGE all these learning will help me become a better wife, mother, daughter, employer, business partner, client or friend to those around me.
I AM TEACHER NANAY DINDI :)
To be honest with you, I'm more of a visual artist rather than a writer/blogger. So "author" to me seemed kinda scary and I couldn't think of any other "tag" to write in this portion than NANAY (mother in Filipino language). Because that's who I really am, a Filipino mother first and an artist-teacher second.
