ABOUT LIKHANG BATA

Established in 2010, LIKHANG BATA started as an independent summer art workshop curriculum organized by Art Teacher and homeschooling mother of four, Teacher Dindi Besinga-Manlapaz. Likhang Bata eventually evolved into a Creativity Center that provides year-round art appreciation curriculum for toddlers to pre-teens. At present, we also organize Art events with various family-oriented business establishments and educational institutions and coordinate charity oriented projects dedicated to Visual Arts.

OUR STORY

Picture
It all started when I was making artworks with my then 10-month-old son.
And now, after almost a decade of learning, teaching and creating,
LIKHANG BATA has grown in terms of company and community.

As an artist, I have a vision to see an intelligent Philippine society and a mission to promote the Filipino culture through art education. LIKHANG BATA CREATIVITY CENTER is my main tool to achieve this vision and mission. It is a medium that features my journey through color and design and the fulfillment of sharing the appreciation of our country's culture with a lot of emphasis on the importance of CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT and ART EDUCATION.

The word LIKHA in the Philippine language means "create," added with another word BATA meaning "child."
One might derive that LIKHANG BATA may mean "creative child" or "created by children."
In combining these Filipino words, I intend to show the origins of my artistic skills, my country the Philippines,
and the inspiration of my works -- my family and children.

What once used to be a simple idea and distant dream for my projects and with works made by/inspired by my children, students, and friends, I now have an avenue featuring all these alongside art workshops, art events, and creativity campaigns that I organize or manage.

This is the past, the present, and the future of LIKHANG BATA CREATIVITY CENTER.

So, feel free to go through the different pages where I share with you my journey through the visual arts. I hope you find inspiration in a single word, brush stroke or idea posted. And may this humble project spark a love for art and the rich culture of my country, the Philippines.
