Likhangbata Online Gallery's artists, Dindi & Dato Manlapaz joined the recently concluded Wine and Arts Night organized by the JCI Manila last THURSDAY, 3 April 2014 at the Enderun College Campus, Taguig. With an entrance fee of PHP 2,000/ head, this event was put up to help raise funds and build playgrounds for some less fortunate barangays around the city of Manila. Organizers coordinated an Art Gallery Sale and Display, free flowing wine (coupled with a unique wine tasting lecture) and delicious fine Cocktail Hors D'oeurves catered by Enderun College, of course! Images of playgrounds already built by JCI Manila in Rizal province Starting from early evening, guests poured in the main hall of the campus eager to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the event. Out of the 4 artists who participated, Dato and nanay were very excited to experience this exhibit. Although it was a bit disappointing that most of the artworks were not displayed properly in easels, nor was there any one in charge of starting the Art Auction, the food and wine lecture (with a lot of wine tasting opportunities) compensated for it and made it a fairly successful evening. Overall the organizers hoped that they had instilled on the guests the fulfillment of being able to take part in the construction of playgrounds to help keep less fortunate kids away from drugs and crime, by taking part in this interesting fundraising. “I dream of a Filipino community where culture is as important as living. Where art goes hand in hand with teaching and imbibing what we’ve learned from our rich past on to a brighter future..." Showing how much we give importance to art and culture in our family is like an instinct to me. So it is but a natural choice for me to be sharing my knowledge of the world to my children thru it. I am both happy and proud to say that social media has been and continue to be an avenue of affirmation of this simple mission in life that I have taken on to myself. And this month of love, I feel very blessed to be featured in an online business magazine, ALTUNOMEDIA.COM because of this. Thank you again to their editor Ricci Parto-Dela Cruz for giving me this opportunity to be a part of their online endeavor! And more power to you and your family as well!
